Dear Friends,
 
This is an early notice to mark your calendar for the evening of Thursday August 27, 2009.  We will be having a fundraiser for the Friends of Brian Elder.  You will be receiving more information in the weeks to come.  The previous date conflicted with Congressman Dale Kildee's annual event in Genesee County.  Growing up in the Flint area, Dale is one of my political heroes (yes, there are actual heroes in politics), and I plan on attending Dale's party.
 
As I said before, we are facing difficult times both in Bay County and the State of Michigan as a whole.  In times like these, leadership, planning and the ability to actually implement solutions are more important than ever.  Over the last several years, I have worked hard to help provide just that kind of leadership to the people of Bay County.  I want to continue to be a part of that process in the future, helping to preserve the services our people want and deserve in a financially responsible manner.
 
Thank you very much for all of your support in the past.  I look forward to seeing you on August 27th.
