CHAIRMAN'S CORNER - 2008 ARCHIVES

November 2008

With all our elections behind us now, I would like to thank all of the folks that helped us out at the election headquarters with Judy Brunner heading up the mailings and getting the individuals in to get the mailings out in time, and the group of individuals at the reception desk who had to repeatedly say that we were out of "Obama" signs. Also, to the individuals who helped us set up headquarters and store the office furniture after the election. Thanks to the GOTV committee for all their help, and a special thanks to Election Chair Mike Buda, who did a great job as always. I would like to congratulate all the individuals who won their election/re-election, and those individuals that put up a good fight.

There will be a Michigan Democratic State Central Committee meeting on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 11AM at the UAW 653 East Walkton Blvd., Pontiac, MI. We will be discussing the 2008 elections and hearing from some of the newly elected congressional, and supreme court winners. Our State Convention will be coming up on February 21, 2009.

We will be returing to the American Legion Post 18 for our monthly meetings on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, starting at 7:30PM. With election of party officers after the regular meeting.

As we get close to Election Day, I would like to remind all of the membership that when you look at the ballot, turn it over, because you should vote for all of the Judicial candidates and Ballot questions on the back.

At this time, I would like to thank all of the individuals who helped out at Campaign Headquarters. Just a reminder, our Election night results party will be held at the UAW Local 362 Hall on Wilder Road, starting at 7P.M.

Please don't forget to vote for Michigan Supreme Court candidate Diane Hathaway. You can hear her speak on Sunday, November 2, 2008, at the Bay County Democratic Get Out The Vote Dinner, which will be held at the UAW Local 362 Hall at 5:30P.M. Tickets are $10 and there will be tickets available at the door.

Kathy Wilton, candidate for the 97th State House of Representatives needs your help to defeat Tim Moore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also would appreciate all of the membership talking to your friends and family to support all of the DEMOCRATIC candidates running on November 4th. They need your support and donations to get them elected. Anyone willing to volunteer please call, 892-4276. WE NEED HELP ON ELECTION DAY!
