CHAIRMAN'S CORNER - 2009 ARCHIVES
Fall 2009
As we head towards Election Day 2009, I want to take a moment to remind everyone to get out and vote on November 3rd! We have a chance to get some new faces on the Bay City Commission, including some good strong Democrats. Let's make sure we make our voices heard.
I want to thank the By-Laws committee: Jim Davidson, Lori Dufresne, Don Goulet, Jan Miner, John Roszatycki and Chair Ed Shimabukuro, for their hard work revising the BCDP By-Laws. Your dedication to the BCDP is much-appreciated.
We are having a Pancake Breakfast on November 1 at the UAW Hall. Come on out and enjoy a great breakfast with your fellow Democrats, and help us raise a little money for the BCDP. Get your tickets back if you can. We need to get a good head count so we can have enough food on hand.
See you all at the Pancake Breakfast!

Summer 2009
This has been a great Summer for the Bay County Democratic Party and Democrats in General! At the National level, we've got 60 Dems in the Senate for the first time since 1968. Locally, we've got new leadership in the Bay County Young Dems and the League of Democratic Women and Men, and the energy and spirit of both organizations has been wonderful to see.
The Young Dems have been doing a fantastic job serving the community, organizing top-notch fundraisers and getting new voters registered. Thank you to Jennifer Barnes for her hard work getting this Young Dems up and running again, and to Spencer Tobias and all the Young Dems who've stepped up to make the organization so successful. We will need you enthusiasm as we head into 2010, and it's great to have you back.
I want to thank Ruth Noble for her years of services as League President. She did a terrific job. Mary Boettger has some new ideas, and I'm sure she'll do a wonderful job with the League as well. I look forward to having two strong Democratic PACs in Bay County again.
See you all at the meeting on August 31st at 7pm!

Spring 2009
Now that our Annual Chicken Dinner is over - and by the way it was a great success - I would like to thank all of the people who helped set up and run the event. Over 190 members attended, and a good time was had by all.
Our Congratulations go out to Mike Buda and Hope Shimabukuro for being elected as 5th District delegate and alternate to the State Central Committee. Congratulations also to Matt Schlenker on his election to 5th District Chair.
Don't forget our next event is the Spring Fling on Friday, May 8, 2009 from 6PM to 10PM at the Doubletree Hotel. We sure need your help because of the economy.
Congratulations to Judy Brunner for being selected as the 2009 Tony Bielawski Award winner. It is well deserved. She does a lot.
The Michigan Democratic party's Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Cobo Center in Detroit.
Just a reminder that our next monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 7:30PM at the American Legion. Starting April, the monthly meetings will start at 7:00PM. See you there.
