OVERVIEW OF 2010 MDP ENDORSEMENT CONVENTION

The Rules of the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) authorization the MDP candidate for public office.
Endorsement on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Cobo Center in Detroit, to endorse candidates for statewide public office, including but not limited to Secretary of State and Attorney General. The Convention will not endorse a candidate for Governor.
As at all MDP State Conventions, delegates to the Convention will be precinct delegates, elected officials, candidates for public office and persons who are members of the Michigan Democratic Party at least thirty (30) days prior to the Convention.
Instead of county or district conventions held 1 or 2 weeks prior to the State Convention, constituency caucuses and congressional district caucuses will meet the morning of the Convention. The Convention will convene in the afternoon to make endorsements.
As at all MDP State Conventions, the Convention will use proportional voting by county, fraction of a county and congressional district.
