Jim Barcia was named the 2010 Tony Bielawski Award winner at the Bay County Democratic Party's Membership Chicken Dinner. Jim is one of the fortunate few who is liked and respected by practically everyone. He is able to get along and work out compromises on most issues. He has consistently worked with our local candidates to help guide them, support them and get them elected. He is always available to talk with anyone in the Party about Party issues and works to negotiate solutions that are agreeable to most of us.

Over the years he has contributed large sums of money many times to help fund our Elections Headquarters. In addition, he has sold tickets to many of our fundraisers. Last year, for example, he sold fourteen Spring Fling tickets.

For over 30 years, he has consistently helped Bay County by obtaining grants, loans and stimulus money for the advancement of our County. Through his efforts and respected reputation, we have maintained our strong Democratic base and an overwhelming majority of elected positions.

For over 30 years, he has been an advocate for not only our County Party, but also for our state and national Democrats. With over 70% of the votes in his elections, Jim Barcia is certainly one of the most valued and respected political figures in Michigan and Bay County.
